Kyoto National Museum
The Kyoto National Museum, founded in 1897, is one of Japan's premier national museums dedicated to the preservation and exhibition of Japanese art and cultural heritage. Located in the Higashiyama district of Kyoto, the museum holds over 12,000 works, including national treasures and important cultural properties spanning ancient to early modern periods. The elegant Meiji-era Kotokan Hall and the modern Heisei Chishinkan Wing house rotating special exhibitions and permanent collection galleries showcasing ceramics, textiles, paintings, and sculpture.
