Wakayama prefectural museum

Wakayama Prefectural Museum actively collects, saves, researches, and exhibits cultural properties related to Wakayama Prefecture; and carries out educational activities in order to pass on its rich possessions to future generations. Our permanent exhibition introduces the history of the prefecture, which dates back to more than 30,000 years ago under the name of “Kinokuni.” Also, to fully utilize our collection, we hold special exhibitions twice a year on a large scale and several times a year on a smaller scale. Additional feature is a section for citizens to display their memorable items.
