KURASHIKI MUSEUM OF FOLK-CRAFT
The Kurashiki Museum of Folk-Craft is Japan's second folk crafts museum, founded in 1948 and housed in beautifully renovated late 18th-century rice granaries in Kurashiki's historic canal district. The collection showcases everyday objects created by unknown artisans, including ceramics, textiles, lacquers, baskets, woodworks, metalworks, and paintings. It was established following the philosophy of the mingei (folk crafts) movement.
