Guangzhou Overseas Chinese Museum

The Guangzhou Overseas Chinese Museum (广州华侨博物馆) tells the story of Cantonese emigration and the worldwide overseas Chinese community through permanent and special exhibitions. Highlights include 19th-century qiaopi (overseas remittance letters), trade-house artefacts such as the 1905 Carlowitz advertisement, and personal effects from prominent figures like Sun Yat-sen confidant Deng Zeru. The museum runs guided tours, volunteer activities and educational programs centered on the founding spirit and entrepreneurial legacy of Guangfu emigrants from the Qing dynasty to the present.
