China Comic & Animation Museum

The China Comic and Animation Museum (Zhongguo Donghua Bowuguan) in Hangzhou's Binjiang district is a national-level specialised museum dedicated to Chinese animation and comics, jointly approved by the National Radio and Television Administration and the China Animation Society. Across four permanent galleries — Imagination, Memory, Today and Future — visitors trace the history of Chinese animation from its early pioneers (the Wan brothers) through the post-2004 industry boom, with hands-on exhibits, voice-acting booths, AR/VR/MR experiences and a 38-metre central animation screen. Facilities include a theatre, library, viewing rooms and a dedicated programme of public events.
