YOKOYAMA MEMORIAL MANGA MUSEUM

The memorial museum of Ryuichi Yokoyama, a manga artist born in Kochi City, also serves to spread the manga culture. Fuku-chan, his representative comic strip, was published in newspapers before, during, and after WWⅡ and was loved by the people of Japan. Permanent exhibits include manga drawings, paintings, cutouts, and animation-related documents. Temporary exhibits and events are held occasionally. “Fuku-chan Lane” takes visitors back to the time the comics were read and introduces children’s games. Also, 14,000 volumes of manga are made available for free browsing at the library area.
