Caliwood

CALIWOOD is the first cinematography museum in Colombia, founded on 22 October 2008 by Hugo Suárez Fiat in Santiago de Cali. The museum showcases the history of film and photography through its collection of magic lanterns, hand-cranked and electric projectors, film and still cameras, posters, lobby cards, and other artefacts that shaped cinematic and photographic culture. Highlights include the María collection of original on-set photographs from Colombia's first feature-length silent film (1922) and the Cinema Lumière screening room.
