Johanitská komenda sv. Zdislavy a Havla z Lemberka

The Johanitská komenda (Commandery of the Knights Hospitaller) in Český Dub is a Romanesque-Gothic fortified monastery founded in 1237 by nobleman Havel z Lemberka and his wife St. Zdislava. The complex features a large entrance hall with three cross vaults, a Romanesque Chapel of St. John the Baptist dating to circa 1240, underground chambers, and an 80-meter escape tunnel. Rediscovered in 1991 after centuries of being hidden, the site now operates as a museum exhibit.
