Eise Eisinga planetarium

The Eise Eisinga Planetarium in Franeker is the oldest still-functioning planetarium in the world. Built into the living room of wool comber Eise Eisinga between 1774 and 1781, the moving model of the solar system continues to operate today. The museum also displays Eisinga's astronomical instruments, a screening room, changing exhibitions and a focus on modern astronomy.
