Deutsches Edelsteinmuseum

The Deutsches Edelsteinmuseum in Idar-Oberstein presents the world of gemstones across three floors and 800 square metres, with more than 10,000 exhibits. Visitors can follow the journey of precious stones from rough material through historic and modern cutting and engraving techniques to finished jewellery. The collection spans local agates and quartzes alongside lapis lazuli, tourmaline, jade and other treasures from around the world, with regular special exhibitions on gemstone-related themes.
