Deutsches Optisches Museum

The Deutsches Optisches Museum in Jena tells the history of optics and optical instruments. Its collection includes treasures such as a 17th-century silver eye model from the French royal court, an early Carl Zeiss Abbe refractometer, the famous 1905 Tōgō binoculars and 18th-century display microscopes. The museum combines provenance research, scientific research, collections work and public engagement.
