Deutsches Werkzeugmuseum

The Deutsches Werkzeugmuseum (German Tool Museum) in Remscheid is the only museum in Germany dedicated to the development of tools, the tool industry, and trade. Exhibits trace the production and use of tools from the Stone Age through the Middle Ages and industrialization to the present, with the centerpiece being a steam engine featuring an almost four-meter flywheel. Visitors can explore interactive stations and learn about Remscheid's role as a global trading hub. Note: temporarily closed from 1 April 2026 (expected through July 2026) for renovation work.
