DGEG (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Eisenbahngeschichte e.V.) is the German Society for Railway History, dedicated to preserving and presenting railway heritage in Germany. Founded as a non-profit, it operates several museum sites with historic locomotives and rolling stock, organizes study trips, and publishes the "EisenbahnGeschichte" journal. The society has regional groups across Germany and runs an extensive archive and library on German railway history.
