Ernst Barlach Haus

The Ernst Barlach Haus, opened in 1962 as a private museum, is set in Hamburg's Jenischpark on the banks of the Elbe. Designed by architect Werner Kallmorgen, the modern museum holds a significant collection of works by expressionist sculptor, graphic artist and writer Ernst Barlach (1870–1938), including nearly a third of his wood sculptures. The museum complements its permanent collection with temporary exhibitions of Classical Modern and contemporary art, guided tours and the Klang & Form concert series.
