Erzgebirgisches Spielzeugmuseum mit seinem Freilichtmuseum

The Erzgebirgisches Spielzeugmuseum in Seiffen, opened in 1953, is an internationally recognised specialist museum for Erzgebirge toys and folk art. Across three floors, around 5,000 exhibits illustrate traditional Erzgebirge crafts including Noah's Arks, ring-turning, pyramids and Christmas lights, with the oldest pieces dating from about 1800 and a centrepiece pyramid more than six metres high. The associated Erzgebirgisches Freilichtmuseum (open-air museum), added in 1973, presents 14 typical Erzgebirge buildings from before 1900.
