Freies Deutsches Hochstift / Frankfurter Goethe-Museum
The Frankfurter Goethe-Haus, run by the Freies Deutsches Hochstift, is the birthplace and childhood home of Johann Wolfgang von Goethe. In this house on the Großer Hirschgraben, Goethe wrote his early works including Götz von Berlichingen, the original version of Faust, and The Sorrows of Young Werther. The site is paired with the adjoining Deutsches Romantik-Museum, the world's first museum dedicated to the Romantic era as a whole, presenting unique originals through innovative exhibition formats.
