Görlitzer Sammlungen für Geschichte und Kultur

The Görlitzer Sammlungen für Geschichte und Kultur (Görlitz Collections for History and Culture) combines the Kulturhistorisches Museum and the Oberlausitzische Bibliothek der Wissenschaften in two historic venues: the Barockhaus (Baroque House) on Neißstraße and the Kaisertrutz fortification. The collections explore the cultural and natural history of Upper Lusatia and the border region, with exhibits ranging from scientific instruments and fine arts to archaeological finds and local history. The library holds an important historical archive of scholarly works.
