The Geschichtsmuseen der Landeshauptstadt Erfurt comprise the Stadtmuseum Erfurt, the Alte Synagoge, the Erinnerungsort Topf & Söhne, the Wasserburg Kapellendorf and the Haus "Zum Güldenen Krönbacken". The flagship Stadtmuseum, in the historic 1607 Waidhändlerhaus "Zum Stockfisch", presents 1,275 years of city history with displays on the late medieval Erfurt of the "Tollen Jahren" and a current special exhibition on Erfurt's sporting culture.
