Heimatmuseum Scheeßel

One of Lower Saxony's oldest museums, the Heimatmuseum Scheeßel was founded in 1913 with the dedication of today's Heimathaus and now spans the central Heimathaus and Meyerhof sites. Run by the Heimatverein, the museum is a living institution: traditional crafts such as Blaudruck (indigo block-printing) and weaving are practised in its workshops, alongside Kunstgewerbehaus exhibitions, Scheeßeler Schulmusikanten, cycling tours, plattdeutsch evenings and a youth Skat club.
