Historisches Museum Basel

The Basel Historical Museum (Historisches Museum Basel) is widely regarded as the most important museum of cultural history on the Upper Rhine, with a collection of over 435,000 objects. It operates three distinct sites in Basel: the Barfüsserkirche (history of Basel from prehistoric times), Haus zum Kirschgarten (18th–19th century period rooms), and the Musikmuseum (Switzerland's largest collection of musical instruments, with 650 instruments across five centuries). All three sites are within easy walking distance of each other.
