Historisches Museum Bayreuth

The Historisches Museum Bayreuth, founded in 1894, is the oldest museum in Bayreuth and has been housed since 1996 in the Old Latin School at Kirchplatz. Spanning three floors and 1,200 m², it documents the cultural and art history of the festival city and its region from the Middle Ages to the present, with particular focus on Bayreuth's era as a margravial residence in the 17th-18th centuries.
