Museen der Stadt Worms

The Museum der Stadt Worms im Andreasstift is housed in one of Worms' finest buildings: the former St. Andreasstift, a late-Romanesque monastic complex with a picturesque courtyard. The museum's permanent collections include a major Nibelungen exhibition bringing to life the legendary medieval epic of the Nibelungenlied, a historical collection spanning city history from prehistory to the modern era, and a prehistoric and Roman department — featuring impressive excavation finds — newly reopened to visitors after renovation. The museum also presents the intimate special exhibition "Worms Stück für Stück" exploring 6th-century filigree fibulae, alongside rotating special exhibitions, a dedicated Nibelungen cinema, children's programmes and school activities.
