Esehytterne
Esehytterne (the Ese Huts) is an outdoor heritage site near Bork Havn on Ringkøbing Fjord that recreates the world of seasonal fishing in West Jutland between roughly 1816 and 1880, when the passage to the North Sea was at Nymindegab ("Gabet"). The A-frame "knee" or "span" huts stood in groups of four — three for housing fishermen and one for preparing baited lines. Visitors can step inside the reconstructed huts and learn about the work of the "esepiger" (bait girls), each preparing 2,400 hooks a day, plus see the historic fishing cutter V6, a roughly century-old boat that sailed between the fjord and the North Sea.
