Dybbøl Mølle
Dybbøl Mølle (Dybbøl Mill) is one of Denmark's most iconic national symbols, located on top of Dybbøl Banke near Sønderborg. The mill was at the centre of dramatic events during the Schleswig Wars of 1848-51 and 1864, destroyed in battle each time and rebuilt. Today it operates as a museum with permanent exhibitions exploring why visitors are drawn here, the people of the mill, the many mills, the battle for the mill, and Dybbøl as a place of remembrance.
