Janus - Museum for Samtidskunst
JANUS – Museum for Samtidskunst (Museum for Contemporary Art) is located in Tistrup in West Jutland, Denmark. For over 50 years JANUS has been a cultural centre for contemporary art, presenting changing exhibitions from both established and emerging artists. The museum hosts the traditional censored Artists' Summer Exhibition (Kunstnernes Sommerudstilling) and is connected to the Vestjyllandsudstillingen. The museum takes its name from the Roman god Janus, who looks both backwards and forwards – reflecting its commitment to both tradition and new artistic directions. JANUS is part of the Vardemuseerne museum network.
