Herningsholm

Herningsholm Museum is located in Herning's oldest building, dating from 1579. The museum tells the story of life on the Jutland heath and the figures it inspired — including the celebrated Danish author Steen Steensen Blicher — through texts, images, and artefacts. It also traces the remarkable history of the manor house itself, which evolved from housing a small army with cannons to driving a thriving trade in sheep and wool socks, laying the foundations for the Central Jutland textile industry. Visitors can explore the exhibitions and relax in the manor's small garden, or browse the museum shop.
