Danish Welfare Museum

Danmarks Forsorgsmuseum (Danish Welfare Museum) in Svendborg is part of Svendborg Museum and tells the story of Denmark's social welfare history. Housed in a former workhouse and poorhouse, the museum documents the lives of the poor, the disabled, and society's most vulnerable from the 1800s onward. Exhibitions explore institutions, social policy, and personal stories of those who lived under welfare care.
