Fur Museum
Fur Museum, part of Museum Salling on the small Limfjord island of Fur in northwest Denmark, is dedicated to the geology and palaeontology of the Fur Formation — clay layers exceptionally rich in 55-million-year-old fossils of fish, insects, plants and "danekræ" specimens. Permanent exhibits cover fossils, the moler clay industry and local cultural history, and the museum also offers guided fossil-hunting trips on the cliffs with one of its geologists.
