Fyrkat Møllegaard

Fyrkat Møllegård near Hobro, run by Nordjyske Museer, is the visitor centre for the Viking ring fortress of Fyrkat — one of the military bases ordered by King Harald Bluetooth to consolidate his rule in Denmark in the late 10th century. The exhibition tells the story of Fyrkat and the wider story of Denmark's ring fortresses and the transition from Norse paganism to Christianity, displaying finds from the site including the famous "Harald Bluetooth's völva" (sorceress) burial.
