Imhotep Museum

The Imhotep Museum at Saqqara, Egypt, was built in honour of Imhotep — the ancient Egyptian architect, physician, and vizier who designed the Step Pyramid of Djoser and was the first to use stone on a large architectural scale. Opened in 2006, the museum displays six galleries of artefacts excavated from the Saqqara necropolis, including statues, coffins, sarcophagi, wall paintings, and ritual objects spanning thousands of years of ancient Egyptian funerary history. It is situated at the entrance to the Saqqara archaeological site, south of Cairo.
