Bate Collection of Musical Instruments, University of Oxford
The Bate Collection is the University of Oxford's museum of historical musical instruments and is part of the Faculty of Music. The collection spans brass, woodwind, keyboard, percussion and string instruments — including the Chanot family violin-making tools and the Anthony Baines archive — alongside soundfonts, recordings and a Javanese gamelan. The museum supports research, teaching and public programmes for visitors of all ages.
