City of Rijeka museum
The Muzej grada Rijeke (City of Rijeka Museum) presents the economic, political, cultural, educational, scientific and sporting history of Rijeka from 1719 — when it became a free royal port — to 2020, when it was European Capital of Culture. Its main permanent exhibition occupies the historic Palača šećera (Sugar Palace) at Krešimirova 28, while the modernist "Kockica" building hosts temporary exhibitions and cultural events. The museum also operates the Galeb ship as a maritime heritage attraction and a torpedo exhibit at the harbour Metropolis warehouse.
