Louis Couperus Museum

The Louis Couperus Museum in The Hague, Netherlands, is dedicated to the life and literary legacy of Louis Couperus (1863–1923), one of the greatest Dutch-language novelists of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Housed in a historic building in The Hague — the city where Couperus was born and which permeates much of his writing — the museum explores his work through manuscripts, personal objects, first editions, portraits, and rotating exhibitions. Couperus is best known for his richly psychological novels, including Eline Vere and De boeken der kleine zielen, and his exoticist literature set in the Dutch East Indies.
