Blessed Edmund Rice House
Blessed Edmund Rice (1762-1844) founded the Christian Brothers and Presentation Brothers, both Roman Catholic religious orders that have played a major role in Irish and worldwide education. The house is dedicated to his memory, having lived here from 1828 to 1838. Currently home to the Allen library containing material related to the period of 1916-22 including photographs and papers relating to the executed 1916 Easter Rising leaders.
