Clarke Railway Station

Dundalk railway station first opened in 15 February 1849. It was originally called Dundalk Junction being located at the Junction of the Dublin/Belfast line with the Dundalk/Enniskillen line. In June 1894 it became known as Dundalk Station. On 10 April 1966, Dundalk Station was renamed Clarke Station, in commemoration of Tom Clarke, one of the executed leaders of the Easter Rising in 1916. On display at the station is an old signal box, now on the platform, and a room exhibiting old rail-related photographs and railway artefacts.
