Special Collections Exhibition Space

The John Paul II Library was opened in 1984 and was significantly extended in 2012, offering 147% additional space and covering more than 10,000 square metres. The Exhibition Space in the Library foyer serves as a venue for cultural events and performances, both from within the University and the wider community. A large number of exhibitions and events occur throughout the year relating to themes of cultural and historical significance. Material from Library Special Collections & Archives is showcased at various times throughout the year. Past exhibitions have included: The Playright Restored: an exhibition relating to the Irish playwright Teresa Deevy, a ceramics exhibition developed by the Crafts Council of Ireland, and an exhibition on the Morpeth Roll. All exhibitions are open to the public during Library opening hours.
