Heiligenbeeldenmuseum Kranenburg

Heiligenbeeldenmuseum Kranenburg is a museum of religious statues housed in the former St Antonius van Padua Church in Kranenburg/Vorden — the oldest surviving church designed by Dutch architect P.J.H. Cuypers, built between 1855 and 1867. After the parish closed the church, volunteers saved the Rijksmonument and reopened it in 2000 as a museum, presenting a collection of statues of saints, liturgical vestments and Roman Catholic devotional objects. The museum is run entirely by around 75 volunteers and stages an annual themed exhibition each spring through autumn.
