Dorpsmuseum De Kluis

Dorpsmuseum De Kluis is the village museum of Eext, run entirely by local volunteers. Housed in a former cooperative deep-freeze building from 1958, it features a scale model of Eext as it appeared in 1754, archaeological finds from the banks of the Hunze, displays of vanished local trades (wheelwright, bakery, smithy, hairdresser), and a recreated early-20th-century parlour with traditional alcove bed. The museum also runs an educational programme for primary-school groups, walking and cycling routes around Eext, and publishes a quarterly local-history journal.
