Kasteel Amerongen

Kasteel Amerongen is one of the Netherlands' most authentically preserved historic castles, a grand 17th-century 'adellijk huys' (noble seat) rebuilt after French forces destroyed the original in 1672. Visitors explore richly furnished rooms with centuries-old art and interiors, stroll through a romantic rose garden, an ancient berceau walk, and the castle's animal cemetery. Self-guided visits with in-room guides on weekends; guided tours only on weekdays.
