Museo Faggiano, orario apertura e biglietti

The Museo Faggiano is a private archaeological museum located in the historic centre of Lecce, in Apulia, southern Italy. Its remarkable origins trace back to 2001, when owner Luciano Faggiano began excavating beneath the floor of his building to repair a broken sewer pipe. What he discovered instead was an extraordinary layered history: Messapian tombs, Roman granaries, a Franciscan chapel, and medieval tunnels, all stacked beneath a single address. Unable to stop digging, Faggiano turned the site into a public museum. The collection spans over 2,000 years of continuous habitation, with artefacts displayed in situ across multiple underground levels, giving visitors a direct encounter with the deep strata of Lecce's past.
