Obihiro Centennial City Museum
Obihiro Centennial Museum was established in 1982, one hundred years after members of the "Banseisha" (a group of pioneers) took their first steps in the reclamation of Obihiro in 1883. Exhibition Room 1 and 2 are reserved for permanent exhibitions. Tokachi's environmental state of during the reclamation period and the process how Tokachi became a major agricultural center are covered in Exhibition Room 1. The formation of the Tokachi Plain and the life of Ainu people, the indigenous people of Tokachi, are covered in Exhibition Room 2.
