The Museum of Modern Art, Gunma

The Museum of Modern Art, Gunma opened in the autumn of 1974. The activities of the museum include the acquisition and preservation of artworks, art research and study, organization of permanent and temporary exhibitions, gallery talks, lectures and other educational programs. In 1994 museum facilities were expanded with Museum Shop and Restaurant. In 1998, Contemporary Art Wing, designed specifically for exhibitions of contemporary art, was added. In 2008, outdated facilities have been renovated to make the museum more functional and pleasant to visit.
