Shimonoseki City Archaeological Museum
This museum was opened adjacent to the historic Ayaragi-go site in 1995. The site features a park, reconstructed ancient tombs, and pit dwellings from the Tumulus era (Kofun period). The park attracts many residents and is known for its serene surroundings. The museum exhibits archaeological materials from the Yayoi and the Tumulus eras and also offers hands-on learning and cultural courses to residents and guests. We hope that visitors will take advantage of these courses to enhance their cultural experiences. General admission is free. (Fees for special events are determined separately.)
