Two museums sit side by side in a 2,000 sq m building, that's part of a Cultural Park featuring several other Māori, Dutch and pioneering attractions. It's a place that can easily keep the entire family entertained, for the day.

The Piriharakeke Generation Inspiration Centre showcases taonga from Ngati Raukawa ki te Tonga. These include traditional and modern weaving, carving, and taonga puoro - from early times to today.

The Oranjehof Dutch Connection Centre features art and objects from Abel Tasman's time to today. The stories focus on the Dutch immigration waves to Aotearoa - from the late 1940s onwards.

The Foxton Hub tells the story of pioneering days - a thriving flax industry, a booming town, and the good old Foxton Fizz...

Built in Partnership As the centre-piece of Te Awahou Riverside Cultural Park, Te Awahou Nieuwe Stroom is a living, breathing celebration of identity and diversity. This is a showcase of what can be achieved in a multi-cultural partnership.

Tangata whenua, the Dutch immigrant community and Horowhenua District Council came together to build this beautiful facility. Our message at the entrance: “We all connect to this place and from this place we thrive”.
