Fyffe House
Fyffe House in Kaikōura is the last remaining building from the early shore-whaling station that began the European settlement of the area. The two-storey colonial cottage, with its lower walls of whale-vertebrae foundations, has been preserved and adapted as a small house museum interpreting Kaikōura's whaling, settler and Māori history. It is cared for by Heritage New Zealand Pouhere Taonga.
