Marija and Jurgis Šapelis home museum

The Marija and Jurgis Šlapelis Home Museum in Vilnius preserves the legacy of a remarkable Lithuanian family who operated the first Lithuanian-language bookshop and contributed greatly to Lithuanian cultural life. The museum holds over 25,000 exhibits including books, dictionaries, furniture, personal items, photographs, letters, and artworks, housed in Gothic cellars and a gallery of the historic building.
