Island Castle Exposition
Trakai Island Castle (Trakų Istorijos Muziejus) is one of Lithuania's most iconic medieval landmarks, a stunning Gothic-style castle built on an island in Lake Galvė near Trakai. Dating from the 14th and 15th centuries, the castle was a major residence of the Grand Dukes of Lithuania and has been restored as a history museum featuring exhibitions on the history of Trakai, the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, applied arts, and military heritage. The museum complex also includes a sacral art exhibition, the Trakai Peninsula Castle, and the Medininkai Castle.
