Janis Rozentāls and Rūdolfs Blaumanis Museum

From 1904 until 1915, apartment number 9 in the house on 12 Alberta Street was inhabited by one of the founders of professional Latvian art, Janis Rozentāls, and his spouse, Finnish singer Elli Forssell. Visitors can examine the apartment’s Art Nouveau interior and the work of Janis Rozentāls in an authentic setting where the artist used to paint and receive prominent Latvian and international creators of the early 20th century, such as Jāzeps Vītols, Emilis Melngailis, Kārlis Skalbe, etc.

From 1906 to 1908, the great Latvian writer Rūdolfs Blaumanis was a sporadic subtenant at the apartment. The museum has a memorial room dedicated to the author.

The museum is a structural unit of the Memorial Museum Association.
