Memorial Museum of the Brothers Kaudzītes “Kalna Kaibēni”
The "Kalna Kaibēni" Memorial Museum, established in 1929, is Latvia's oldest memorial museum dedicated to brothers Reinis (1839–1920) and Matīss (1848–1926) Kaudzītes, who authored the classic Latvian novel "Mērnieku laiki" at this location and educated 1,229 students during their 14 years as teachers. The museum preserves the rural homestead where the brothers lived and worked, offering visitors a window into 19th-century Latvian rural life and literary history.
