Goldmine Experience

The Goldmine Experience in Thames, New Zealand offers a guided tour through an operational 19th century stamper battery and into one of the richest goldmines of the time. Visitors can also enjoy a self-guided tour of the photographic museum, video presentations, mining relics, and steam-powered machines, and try their luck at gold panning. The site sits at the northern end of Thames at the corner of Moanataiari Road and State Highway 25.
